| Lens design |
- The lens is a one piece,biconvex flexible implant made of hydrophilic acrylic with a UV inhibitor.The optic diameter is 6.0mm,which is enough to allow easy exploration of the ocular fundus and to prevent patient's problem with night vision.
- The lens has eight haptics.which are fixation elements and also dynamic transition elements.They transmit to the optic the elastic movements induced by the ciliary body.
- The lens is positioned in the capsular bag like a flower with the petals.
- The lens provides an accommodation of 2.5D to 3D.
- The estimated A constant is 121.Hence the lens positioned nearer to the posterior chamber.Hence it prevents PCO,edge glare and halos.
- The lens size will vary depend on the power of the IOL.
- When the patient is using distance vision,the ciliary body and zonules are relaxed and the lens remains in the basic position.
- When the patient uses near vision,the contractionof the ciliary muscle is transmitted to the capsular bag and to the lens haptics.
